![]() ![]() I imagine the experience is largely the same as normal Emerald. It’s styled as a “386 hack” (hack where you can catch/breed/evolve every Mon that was present in that generation with just your copy of the game, so no trading or Nintendo events necessary) that includes a few features from later generations, like the Physical/Special split from Gen IV (in Gens I-III, some Types like Fire and Water used Special Attack/Defense regardless of the nature of the attack, and other Types like Normal and Rock used (physical) Attack/Defense–the split means that all of the Types have access to moves that use Physical/Special Attack/Defense stats), infinite-use TMs from Gen V (TMs grant a Pokemon its move if the Mon can learn it, but vanish after use in Gens I-IV), or even the Fairy Type from Generation VI (a completely new Type with its own super-effectiveness and weakness), even “retro-typing” old Mons like Jigglypuff and Ralts in the process.Īin’t gonna see that in your typical Emerald. Pokemon Sigma Emerald is a ROMhack of the original Pokemon Emerald. It took me around 30 hours to at least beat the Champion, though I’ll admit that I wasn’t really focusing on catching/evolving Mons all too much and I kinda rushed at the end. I guess the pull was too strong to resist this time, and I figured since I missed out the first time around, I could go back and experience a better version of what was there long ago. ![]() I wound up picking up a couple of the games later, but I wound up completely skipping Hoenn. I got Silver for Christmas the year that released. I got Blue in 98 and I think I even got Red the same year, and Yellow later. Let’s see how long it takes for me to do DLC!
